How to upload files?
File upload is available through all our platforms.
Website offers upload of multiple files after log in to user's account in main menu.
With Drive and Desktop application you can upload multiple files and folders by drag and drop method.
Furthermore, developers can build own application and use our API to upload files.
Do you offer FTP access to your storage servers?
We do not support other FTP clients for security reasons, since users' files and information are transferred and stored with custom encryption.
Users can use OpenDrive Drive application to upload or modify files similar way to FTP client.
Is hotlinking free?
OpenDrive will enable direct linking of your files if you upgrade your account or help us promote OpenDrive.
You can find, display or create webpage, which contains visible link to OpenDrive website and enter URL in My Profile. After that hotlinking will be instantly enabled.
What type of files I can upload and hotlink to other websites?
We do not have a restriction on file type, however user can hotlink or share only files which do not violate copyright law or our terms of use.
How can I limit hotlinking of my files only for my website?
OpenDrive provides custom settings for each file in properties and you can enter File Destination URL or Domain for each file.
If File Destination URL is specified, file will be accessible only at domain or URL you provided.
What is bandwidth?
Each user has limited bandwidth according plan and bandwidth is amount of transferred data from user's OpenDrive account.
Every time someone download file from your account, file size is deducted from your bandwidth.
File upload is not limited by bandwidth limit.
Why is backup/syncing and my computer slow during upload through the Drive application?
OpenDrive can slow down if you first time back up higher volume of data.
Once your files are uploaded, syncing or uploading is much faster and there should not be any problem with slowing down of your computer.
Backing up more than 5GB of data can be time consuming through the internet connection, that's why we are offering also manual upload for paying customers if you send us your files on DVDs, hard drive or any other portable device.
Can I recover deleted files?
All deleted files are moved to Trash folder at the first place.
You can restore files from Trash within 90 days after you delete them.
If you empty trash folder or if files are in trash folder longer than 90 days, files are physically deleted and they cannot be restored anymore.
How to make a backup copy of the data which I have saved in OpenDrive?
Backup of files on OpenDrive or your computer is possible through OpenDrive Drive application 1.3.11 or higher.
If you want to back up data from OpenDrive, you can create folder on your computer. In right click menu of this folder select "Synchronize with OpenDrive" and select folder on OpenDrive you want to synchronize.
After that our application will sync all files and folders and all changes that you will make in OpenDrive or in synced folder on your computer, so you will always keep one copy on OpenDrive or on your computer.
We are trying to run a music blog and we already exceeded limit on direct linking and were advertising your name and logo. What can we do to get the music working again?
Free account has daily bandwidth limit 1 GB.
In case you display our logo on your website, you will have hotlinking enabled, but bandwidth limit remains.
You can either use our audio player, which is available in Links for every mp3 file or you would need to upgrade your account to get more bandwidth.

You can create new users for your account in My Profile on OpenDrive website and install Drive application on all computers.
